The figure for British tourists holidaying in Mallorca is down 30% as compared to last year, the result of the general global economic downturn and the weakened pound. The president of the local hotel federation, Antoni Horrach, said many hotels will have to close down in September after a disastrous summer. Hotel occupation throughout the island for August is around 65%. |
